Global Procurement Solution, Inc. started in 2010 with the goal of providing American made, Green Seal Certified sanitation paper products to the federal government (particularly the VA) at a lower price than they were paying for non-green paper.
Charles Fowler
Compelled to improve both the service experience for veterans and operational efficiency at VA Medical Centers, Chuck Fowler founded Global Procurement Solutions, Inc. (GPS) in 2010. Using federal contracting vehicles, GPS started by supplying Green Seal Certified sanitation paper products to VAMCs and federal government agencies, offering them at lower costs than traditional non-green alternatives.
From then to now, Chuck’s goals have remained consistent: help the government save budget dollars while delivering the best products. GPS has grown, now distributing over 25,000 janitorial / sanitary supply products, working with nationally recognized manufacturers and distributors. However, the original mission of making environmentally friendly products more affordable and accessible to the federal government remains a cornerstone of GPS’s philosophy. As an avid outdoorsman committed to environmental conservation, Chuck wanted to simplify purchasing for government buyers who share his passion for “green products.” This led to the implementation of the “Buy Green” button on the GPSFederal.com website, ensuring eco-friendly products are both easily discoverable and cost-effective.
When you partner with GPS, you’re working with a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) led by a distinguished 39-year U.S. Army Veteran. After the events of 9/11, despite running a successful regional finance business, Chuck felt called back to service and voluntarily deployed to Afghanistan in 2002, followed subsequent deployments to Iraq and Syria. His remarkable military career progressed from Private E-1 in 1984 to Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, with roles in infantry and Special Operations until his retirement in 2023.
Though his military service has concluded, his commitment to serving his nation and its veterans continues. As Chairman of The American Legion National Veterans Small Business Task Force, he champions legislative initiatives supporting veteran employment and education. As Vice President of the Service-Disabled Veteran Medical Products Group (SDV-MPG), he collaborates with fellow SDVOSBs to promote best practices, educate and pave new opportunities for veterans in the medical supply space.
Through GPS and his ongoing advocacy, Chuck continues his enduring spirit of service, leadership, and innovation that continues to make a meaningful impact on veterans, the government, and the environment.
